When I first stepped into the interior design market, the quiet luxury style truly fascinated me. But its repetition and over simplification have made it monotonous. In recent years, quiet luxury has changed and affirmed itself through calmness and gentleness while maintaining high quality and harmonious colors that remain persuasive (Saint-Elien, 2023).

The Shift from Minimal to Meaningful
Designers have curated and added soft color highlights to their artistic design style. This direction is called “Colorful Quiet Luxury,” which still keeps simplicity but adds gentle colors to bring more emotion to the home (Olby, 2025).
Why Quiet Luxury Still Matters
Quiet luxury still serves as the main sustainable foundation for this change and continues to value quality. Some critics believe that this style has been used as a status statement, to show wealth without appearing showy (Finn, n.d.). That is why the quiet luxury style has evolved to include more color, avoiding repetitive dullness.
From my personal perspective, every style will develop and change over time to adapt to the era. Change is the most important thing, especially in fashion and design in general, but it should not lose its original essence. That is exactly what quiet luxury aims for.
